On November 20, 2024, the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Armenia welcomed Her Excellency Mrs. Edith Medne, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Armenia (residing in Tbilisi), for a meeting aimed to exploring opportunities for collaboration between the two countries' supreme audit institutions.

During the meeting, Chairman of Audit Chamber Atom Janjughazyan and Ambassador Edith Medne deliberated on avenues for partnership between the Armenia’s Audit Chamber and Latvia's State Audit Office.

Ambassador Medne highlighted the transformative reforms undertaken by the Latvian State Audit Office, emphasizing its significant advancements and expressing readiness to support Audit Chamber’s ongoing efforts in enhancing state audit practices.

Chairman Janjughazyan extended his gratitude for the Ambassador’s interest and Latvia's State Audit Office’s willingness to contribute to Audit Chamber’s development. He noted that the Audit Chamber is actively implementing reforms in line with the newly revised external state audit regulations recently adopted by the National Assembly.

The Chairman also emphasized the importance of the new Law on the Audit Chamber, underlining its pivotal role in enhancing public financial management and strengthening Armenia's external state audit capabilities. Furthermore, he shared insights into the Audit Chamber's collaborations with international partners aimed at fostering best practices.

Both sides concluded the meeting with a mutual commitment to pursue experience-sharing initiatives and deepen cooperation between the Supreme audit institutions of Armenia and Latvia. This partnership is expected to bolster professional expertise and enhance the efficiency of state audit processes in both countries.
